Who the Under 7s are for
- Children starting school Year 2 in September 2026, generally those turning 6 or 7 during the season.
- Boys and girls. Our teams are mixed.
- Complete beginners are genuinely welcome. Most of our players had never played club football before joining.
About the group
We are actively recruiting U7s right now. This is a brand new age group, so every child joining is starting at the same time as everyone else. Nobody is walking into an established team where the friendship groups are already set.
At Under 7s the football is small-sided, which means far more touches on the ball for each child than a full-size game would give them. There are no league tables at this age. The point is that they enjoy it, make friends, and want to come back next Wednesday.
Training and matches
- Training Wednesday evenings, 5pm to 6pm
- Where Hough End Playing Fields, Princess Parkway, Chorlton, Manchester M20 1HP
- Matches Saturday mornings, from September 2026
- League Manchester Respect League
- Kit Match kit provided by the club
- Coaches Qualified, DBS-checked, first-aid trained and safeguarding qualified

Does my child need any experience to join the U7s?
No. Most of the children who join us have never played for a club before. The U7s are a brand new group for 2026/27, so everyone is starting together.
How old does my child need to be for the Under 7s?
The U7s are for children starting school Year 2 in September 2026, which usually means they turn 6 or 7 during the season. If your child is in Year 3, our Under 8s are the right group.
Where and when do the U7s train?
Training is Wednesday evenings, 5pm to 6pm, at Hough End Playing Fields on Princess Parkway in Chorlton. Matches are on Saturday mornings from September.
Do we need to buy a kit?
No. Match kit is provided by the club. Your child just needs shin pads, boots or trainers, and a drink.
Do girls play in the team?
Yes. Our teams are mixed and girls are very welcome.
